The Minnesota State Fire Department Association (MSFDA) has been awarded $1.4 million in funding through the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program to improve the recruitment of volunteer firefighters in Minnesota.
We can assist you with marketing and onboarding new firefighters and possibly reimburse you for turnout gear and health screenings for your new hires.

MSFDA Professional Development Scholarship Program Form
The MSFDA Scholarship gives our members the opportunity to take advantage of valuable educational and professional development opportunities to advance their careers. Expenses include airfare, ground transportation, and hotel accommodations, as well as conference registration and a per diem for meals, up to $2000 per attendee. This is a stipend program and expenses will be reimbursed after proper completion of approved conference and submission of all required receipts and paperwork.
To apply, you must:

Be an active member of a department who has been an MSFDA member for at least three consecutive years

Have never previously attended the conference/training you are applying for

Must have chief’s approval/recommendation in writing
