Need help with your firefighter recruitment process?

Fire departments across Minnesota are searching for responders to fill their empty lockers. The tasks involved to attract, interview, hire, onboard, train, and mentor can be overwhelming. The Minnesota State Fire Department Association may be able to help you. Through a grant award provided by FEMA, we have staff and resources available to guide you through the process. Here are a few things we can offer to our members.

#1 - A review of your current recruitment process

We can review your hiring process from start to finish and offer suggestions to improve your chances of getting people interested in your position.

#2 - We can offer you a class, free of charge.

The days of putting out a sign and waiting for people to come to you are ineffective. The use of digital marketing and social marketing platforms are powerful tools to attract people to your department. We offer four classes per year to help you better understand the recruitment process and learn new techniques to attract people to your department. Go to www.msfda.org and click on the recruitment tab.

#3 - We can help create or improve your presence on the internet.

Today, people find their information using the internet. We can suggest ideas on how to improve your presence on the internet and even connect you to tools that can advertise for you while you are away.

#4 - We can help you improve your social media presence.

If you want to improve your community's awareness of your fire department, you have to get on the r social feeds. We can help you build your social media sites or suggest improvements for those you want to use.

#5 - We can offer you marketing material and support.

We have policies, interview questions, brochure templates, stock pictures, and more that we can offer you. All you have to do is call.

A winning recruitment process requires planning and effort, and you will get out of it what you put into it. If you need assistance, reach out to us at info@mnfirehire.com.
